I never completely finished the multiplayer map in DS1, but recently (last 2 weeks) I have. While i was at it I made this VERY USEFULL map that list all terretory's on that multyplayer map. I also added complete guides to the multyplayer quests, for those interested. (i know steam does not support the multuplayer map for DS1, (thats why I prefer the retail version to start with, but it can be unlocked, if one knows how) (I know also this is DS3 forum =>saddly I only own a steam version of DS3, my retail DS1 version prevents me from posting this guide in the DS1 walktrough section, so I circumvent that problem this way) let me know if you like this guide, I might stimulate me to make a rerun of DS2 too, and post one for that too. ULTREAN WALKTROUGH Tips: *ALL priestess needed for the main quest are located in the potion&spells store of their hometown. *The DS multiplayer map and all monsters on it will be identical in all 3 difficult settings.
The ultimate source of patches & addons for Dungeon Siege. Dungeon Siege 1 Patch Italy Flag. The Victor Index. Last Updated June 2. Note this is very much a work in progress. This index now lists all of the Victor Annuals and the 1. Summer Specials. Work has also started on indexing the weekly comic. The end is in sight!
However they will be harder to kill and drop better loot at harder settings. Storekeepers sell better items at harder settings too. *monsters are scaled to the size of your party, and will be harder to kill and give more xp when you are in a bigger group. *Progress in multyplayer mode cannot be saved, if you need to log off, you can 'skip ahead' by talking the the last priestess of the town you have the townstone from and continue from there.
*First thing to do when you arrive in each town is locate the 'HUB' and the 'transporttower' if available. The HUB allows you to jump to any town directly, where as the transporttower allows you to jump to specific spots on the map between towns, marked on the map. *there are no mules in multiplayer, having a backpack (LoA only), or a inventory mod is advised. 1 TOWN OF ELDIM (eldim stone & howards folly) First thing you need to do is visit the smithy (the house you start next to). Talk to the smithy, who'll tell you to see the guard captain. The guard captain is standing alone by himself near the central path through town. Talk to him, he'll drop you a book, pick it up.
He tells you about some undead ruler who plagues the land, and he wants you to get rid of him. To do that we first need to get the item that binds him to our realm 'Gavel of Convening' and next we finish him off forgood.
Next, talk to the priestess, located in the potion&spells store (like all priestess) who'll tell you to recover the eldim townstone in the crypt. Apearenly it is your mainquest to collect all 8 of them, and the first of them was burried together with some ancient ruler. Makes sence off we go! 1.1 Follow the signs to the CRYPT (using the map added is advised), 1.2 Once in the crypt, while traveling though it, clear it out & open all chests, you will find both the gavel and the townstone, after you found both, exit the crypt on the other side going to HIROTH MARCH. 1.3 HIROTH MARCH is a small area, you may roam free if you like, while following the signs to HOWART'S FOLLY. Be sure to visit the trader while on your way there.
1.4 once in HOWART'S FOLLY (south), fight through it, till you locate a small spidertunnel leading to HOWART'S FOLLY (north), cross it. Continue till you enter a room with 2 closed doors, from here there are 2 paths, (it does not matter what door you open, both lead there). Left you'll go past a stairs leading to GREAT NORTHERN FOREST and find a trader (go there and restock first) Right will lead to HOWART'S FOLLY GREAT HALL, in that hall is our objective HORVATH (he will only be there if you first picked up the gavel in the cryp) kill him.
After you killed HORVATH, leave on the other side of the great hall, to HOWARTS FOLLY (north), continue till you exit above ground in ILIARTH CANYON.near this exit is transportplatform B (see map) use it, to go to the transporttower. 1.5 once arriving at the transporttower, walk back to ELDDIM and talk to the priestess again, she will give you a ring you must pick up, and tell you to visit CRYSTWIND. 2 CRYSTWIND (diamond runestone & crystwind townstone) 2.1 to get to crystwind, you can use the HUB or travel by one of the two landroutes leading there (see map) 2.2 once in Crystwind talk to GUARD CAPTAIN, to end the howart's folly quest. 2.3 after that talk to the priestess, she tells you that while the townstone IS known off, she has NO idea who in town has it now and she wants to talk to the people in town to find out who has it. (makes you wonder what she was doing all those years stationed here eh?) anyway, the person you need to talk to is the mage TRELLA (next to the smithy). 2.4 TRELLA however aint the giving type, and will ask you to get her a DIAMOND RUNESTONE first. While it may be tempting to teach this TRELLA who's boss, game-mechanics force us to follow on her demand.
To obtain the DIAMOND RUNESTONE, simply kill krugs in CRYSTWIND grasslands, till one of them drop it. After you picked it up, talk again to TRELLA, and she will take your diamond runestone and drop the crystwind runestone, pick it up. 2.5 talk again to the priestess, and she will tell you to go next to FALLRAEN 3 FALLRAEN (fallrean barracks & fallreaen townstone) 3.1 to get to FALLREAN you can again take the HUB or travel the only route leading there from crystwind trough the mines (see map) 3.2 just outside the gate of town (you'll pass it when walking, when traveling by HUB, it's the gate nearest to the HUB) stands a guard captain, talk to him. He'll want you to clean out FALREAN BARRACKS thats just on the right side of the path, where the towngate is left. Go inside kill everything and exit, a message will pop up when you exit if you killed everything.
Next talk to the guard and he'll give you a reward and completes your quest. (I can see why clearing out those mobs is to much for a humble town platoon, however what I fail to see, is why anyone would possible want to 'bunk' in that frozen hellhole of a barracks, regardless the captain likes it apearantly, given the huge reward he hands you) 3.3 next talk to the aprentice-priestess. He will order you to find the main priest, who run off with the FALLREAN townstone. Before you head out town, make sure you can revive. Be sure to bring a revive scroll or spell you can use, as well as a spellbook. (You are kidding me they lost it again?
Still at least the stone is where it should be on the main priest, now if only he were in town) 3,4 head out town through the other gate, till you'll find one of two entries to FUROK CAVE (the entry to CLACIAL CAVERNS is the third one, you don't need that one) enter inside and kill everything, you will find the priest dead, with the townstone a robe and staff next to him. Pick up the townstone, and revive the priest. Talk to him, till your quest updates. (one of the 8 greatest mages in the land killed by some run off the mill furoks. This is almost the not-so-greatest-mage-merik all over again) 3,5 go back to fallraen, and talk again to the aprientice, he will tell you to go to MEREN.
(he will also say he will send a resque party to get his 'teacher' back to town. If only that noob-priest just walked back with you to town) 4 MEREN (meren townstone) 4.1 to get to MEREN you can again take the HUB or travel the only route leading there from FALLREAN trough the GLACIAL CAVERNS (see map) 4.2 once there, talk to the priestess, she will tell you to go to meren scrine where the stone is (really undiciplined those priests! Instead of keeping it ON her. She places it in the woods where ANY mob can just take it??? Don't they EVER learn?) 4.3 head out town, inside the cloud forest, till you find the meren temple, where the MEREN townstone is open on display, open for grabs. After this, take transportplatform F, that should be just near the meren temple, back to MEREN 4.4 in MEREN talk again to the priestess, who will tell you to go next to LANG 5 LANG (flooded sanctuary & lang townstone) BONUS: PIT OF DESPAIR 5.1 to get to LANG, take the HUB to lang, or walk any of the 2 routes leading there from MEREN.
Alternatively, you can take the HUB from MEREN to ELDIM, and travel from ELDIM to LANG (see map) END OF PART 1, CONTINUE IN PART 2. This is part 2 of the guide, for previous quests, see part 1. 5 LANG (flooded sanctuary & lang townstone) BONUS: PIT OF DESPAIR 5.2 when in LANG talk to the Utraean Priestess Janeira, who will drop you the townstone! Pick it up, talk to her again and she will tell you to go next to QUILLRABE (finally a priestess that does her job! She should be head-mage!) 5.3 before heading out to quillrabe however, you still have one quest to do near lang, in REDWOOD GAP. You can go there throug LANG MIRE, or trough the GOBLIN (outer) WARRENS that can be accesed just outside town.
(see map) 5.4 when in REDWOOD GAP following the path, untill you can go right into the woods or left over a bridge, a trader is standing just before that bridge, should you need to resuplly. Cross that bridge and after a while you will find SANCTUARY KEEPER just outside of the entrance to FLOODED SANCTUARY, talk to her and she will ask you to clear out the sanctuary. This mission is like the barracks mission from before, though this time there are some hidden area's to explore (some ventilation grids will go down when you step on them) once done killing everything head out, talk to her, get your reward and mission done. (this quest makes actually sence, she behaving like the weak but passionate priestess as she should, and her reward is humble to, for some reason I like her, LANG for all it's depressing swamp has the most uplifting quests!) 5.5 continue forward trough REDWOOD GAP till the entrance of FURY DEN. 5.X BONUS: PIT OF DESPAIR this one is completely optional, when going right before the bridge you will meat a big hole in the ground (abandoned mineshaft), inside it is the pit of despair. It is a gigantic puzzle-maze for you to complete. It does not register as an official quest however, so when you want to do it, see the unofficial quests guide for instructions, for now we presume you skipped it and went to QUILLRABE.
6 QUILLRABE (Quillrabe townstone) BONUS: chicken level! 6.1 if you want to continue walking to QUILLRABE, continue following the only route leading there through fury den. If you want to travel by HUB, take transportplatform H just before FURY DEN entrance, back to LANG, to get back to the HUB and use it to go to QUILLRABE. Alternatively you might use the HUB to go to CRYSTWIND, as the route leading from lang to quillrabe crosses trough ILIARTH CANYON, located very near crystwind. 6.2 when in QUILLRABE, talk to Utraean Priest Ferdl and he will tell you it was given as tribute to some dragon queen, you need to kill her to get it. (his story may give some excuse but again one lazy priest who did not guard the stone at any cost as she should!, but casting your dragonbreath spell on him will not bring it back, so off we go!) 6.3 travel from QUILLRABE towards drakes nest, by following the signs to HIROTH. Just before crossing the last bridge leading towards it's entrance you will find a trader, use him to restock and prepare, before you continue.
6.4 Inside the DRAKES NEST you will first find some smaller dragons till you hit QUEEN DRAGONS lair. There are chests nearby, but some of them can't be opened yet. Kill of the DRAGON QUEEN (hint: when use ranged weapons, use anything with range 15 or higher, so her flames can not hit you, when use melee, watch out for her tremors, be sure to bring hp pots!) after you killed her the chests around her can be opened, in one of them is the QUILLRABE townstone, pick it up, go back to QUILRABE.
6.5 after talking to the priest, he will give you your reward and tell you to go to HIROTH. (the cowardly priest who gave away his townstone, is still afraid that the smaller dragons might wanna revenge their now dead queen.
He's a chicken!) BONUS: CHICKEN LEVEL ah we were just talking of chickens, this one again is completely optional and will not list in quest progress list ingame. This quest cant be done however without 3 items, one of these only can be obtained after the end of the game, the reason it not listed at the end of the guide is because it's entrance is near quillrabe, If you want to do this quest (or prepare the 3 items needed for it) see the unofficial quest guide, for this guide we assume you are not doing it. 7 HIROTH (hiroth townstone) 7.1 to get to HIROTH, travel by HUB, or take the only route going there from QUILLRABE *alternatively you might want to explore the DRAKES NEST for the other exit, leading to a transportplatform I, that will bring you to HIROTH too. 7.2 when in HIROTH talk to Utraean High Priest Kavaren, he will tell you he already placed his townstone on the basilicus. (see map) and asks you to go to GRESCAL to get the last one. (I see why she is high-priest, she is together with the one from lang the only one that does it right) TIP: you might want to drop the 6 townstones you already have on their corresponding spot on the basicilicus to free inventory space before heading to GRESCAL, however keep in mind that if your game crashes or closes before you get back with it and complete the main questline, you will need to get them all again.
You might pick up the HIROTH townstone if you want to, but you really don't have to. 8 GRESCAL (grescal townstone) BONUS: LOST PYRAMIDS 8.1 to get to GRESCAL, travel by HUB from hiroth, or take any of 2 routes leading there. Alternatively you can use transportplatform I if you have activated it before to get to meta desert faster. TIP: many people have problems walking the endless dunes keep in mind the left-right and bottem-top of the map are just 'glued' together.
If you leave from a point going north, you will get back at that point from the south. The best way to find GRESCAL, is by exploring all of the META DESERT, you'll find that it is shaped C-shape with GRESCALL in the middle of the C, as signs will prove (there will be signts pointing up, down, or to the rights, depending on what wall of the meta-desert C you are. Just move inside that C up and down. Till you hit GRESCALL (use big map to see what you already explored) as long as you dont travel outside the C, you will not get lost and find it. Keep also in mind that GRESSCAL is only. This is part 3 of the guide, for previous quests, see part 1 and 2 9 HIROTH again (The Utraean Circle) 9.2 back in HIROTH, talk again to Utraean High Priest Kavaren, he now tells you to place all stones on the baselik in HIROTH.
(well DUH that was were we were collecting those townstones for to start with!) 9.3 go to the baselik and place all townstones (just drop them) on their corresponding spot on the baselik. If a stone is placed right, you will see a red beam going upwards being added to the baselik.
When all 8 stones are placed, the ground shakes, a lift going down apears in the center of the baselik, quest done. But dont take that platform yet. 9.4 something is amiss, the sky is red as fire, and thunder and other nasty sounds play! And when you talk to any of the npc in HIROTH they will say the sky is full of fire and brimstone and such, a questupdate tells you to talk to the High Priest again. (ALL THAT WORK for nothing?? All those rumours about a 'HUB-for-all device', a 'acention device', a 'secret weapons vault' a 'shield against dragons and other mobs' and 'unlocker of secret waterreservoir' were FALSE??
What the F!) 9.5 when you talk to the High Priest, he will tell you that it was a trap (thanks captain hindsight!) and that new mobs are running all over town, escaping from some 'leak' under the basilicus. (mostly you will have seen no new mobs above ground but well we forget about that) The high priest will drop a tenstone and will tell you to lick this leak with it. We pick it up, stock up on some extra potions to be sure, and head back to the basilicus and NOW we head in. (while we decend, we think about how we after ALL that work are just demoted from collecting missing puzzlepieces, to magical plumming duty, it sucks to be the 'hero') 9.6 when we enter the UTREAN CATACOMBS, we will fight against 4 types of Maljin, a previously unseen group of monsters, as these are the first ones in the whole multiplayer map, that are not in the single player map.
We kill all of them, proceed pretty straighforward, untill we get into the INNER SANCTUM, where we kill off everything too. 9.7 in the inner SANCTUM we place the TENTH STONE in the middle of the 'statue' standing in that room by dropping it onto it. And thats it!
Before we head back up though, we get acces to some pretty awsome goody chests! (at least the part about secret weapon vault seems to be true) TIP: if you want to do the secret chicken quest, be sure to pick up the book the trial of gallus while down in the UTREAN CATACOMBS/INNER SANCTUM, it is laying around there. You need 2 other items though, see unofficial quest guide for the other 2. 9.8 back up we will see the sky is blue again, and all npc talk as the did before the brimstone sky incident, as if noting happend.
We talk to the high priestess once again, she gives us a lame utrean helmet for this last of epic tasks, and thats it were all done! If you still want to do more dungeon sieging, feel free to explore any area you did not yet explore, there are many caves, and chests to be found, try a harder difficult setting, or do any of the 3 unfficial quests, but for now THATS ALL FOLKS! Utrean Peninsula map guide in the map are 3 unofficial quests, this guide lists them. BONUSQUEST 1 (5.X) PIT OF DESPAIR this quest is an gigantic maze-puzzel, that has only 3 chests with items as reward. One of these items however is the best pure (not magical) helmet in the entire game, this unique helmet cant be found anywhere else, and looks like a paper bag.
Owning this gimmik is 'prove' you solved the riddle! This maze-puzzel has 3 unique levels, that are all 3 very hard to figure out. 1.1 this 'quest' can be accesed in the area of REDWOOD GAP, most easely reached from the city of LANG through the LANG MIRE (see map) when having LANG MIRE just behind you, walk in REDWOOD GAP, following the path, untill you reach a bridge with a trader nearby. When you reach him, go left inside the woods, instead of right over the bridge, untill you meet a dead end: a HUGE hole in the ground with warning signs all around it.
1.2 enter this hole, a round twirling staircase will bring you to the bottem of this thing (called ABANDONED MINESHAFT) at the bottem is an elevator, take it, and you will be brought down into PIT OF DESPAIR, 1.3 when entering the pit, you will the problem, it is completely dark, you just entered the first level of the maze, the dungeon level. You can already see 2 of the promised 3 chests, but looks can be decieving, they are MUCH further away than they apear to be, and cant be accesed untill you completed all 3 levels of the maze, don't try to reach them in level 1, it will cause you to get lost!
The goal in level 1 is to find the 3 skulls hidden in this maze, and after having found all 3, go to the door, that leads to level 2 of the maze. (this door will ONLY open after you have found (and brought to it) all 3 skulls. In level 1 is also hidden 1 of the 3 chests (not the one with the cool helmet in it, but one with nice items nevertheless) TIP: if you find the door with only 2 skulls in your inventory, it will remove those 2 skulls from your inventory but will not open, however it will open once you brought the 3d one, however if you found all 3 but trew them away rather than bringing them to the door, it will not open. 1.4 the way to complete this level is by dropping small bits of gold using them as 'grains of sand' telling you what way you came from, and/or what paths you already know are dead ends. It really helps to use PIT OF DESPAIR LEVEL 1 map I have added to this guide. 1.5 level 2 again is a 2d maze too, this time with bridges in the dark, and again only one way out, a door, requiring this time an ankh to open. The ank cannot be found in the maze directly, you'll need to find 4 artifacts, hidden in the maze, and place them each on one of 4 statues near the center of the maze.
Once all 4 artifacts are placed, the ankh will apear in the center and you can pick it up and go to level 3. TIP: each of the artifacts is linked to a SPECIFFIC statue, so it is best to first find all 4 artifacts before trying to place them on the statues, to prevent failures. 1.6 like in level 1, dropping gold as grains of sand is most usefull, as is using the PIT OF DESPAIR LEVEL 2 map I have added to this guide. One more tip is, that you don;t need to SEE a route to where you want to go, to be able to move there, sometimes you see the artifact/statue on the other side, trying to move there is always worth a try! 1.7 Level 3, is at least not dark. But it is a 3d maze! No doors this time just one way in, one way out, good luck!
(using the PIT OF DESPAIR LEVEL 3 map is really handy here) A quick way out (shown on the map too): You'll start hitting intersections soon after enterung level 3's goblin walkways: if you stick to: four rights and a left, you should be out in a jeffy. 1.8 just a little forward and now your back in level 1, only now where the 2 chests are, and the second elevator up, take your rewards and go up! You excaped the pit of despair!
BONUSQUEST 2 (8.X) LOST PYRAMIDS This quest is about finding 2 pyramids, they have some chests inside them, but there is really nothing special about them once you finally found them, other from some good loot, this quest is the only bonusquest that does not give you an item to 'prove' you did it. But it can be a lot easier than the other 2 if you know how. 2.1 to get to the lost pyramids you need fist get to eastern island: their are 2 ways, from grescall, or from the northern forest. A To travel from grescal, turn on the ingame map vieuw (tab), and start moving west, til you hit the mesa-desert.
And start exploring that desert completely (it will have an C-shape) next you start moving east-west (up and down) untill you find the opening of the C. Next you start moving west in one continious movement shaving of one layer of black at a time (the map is west-east glued together, so you end up back where you started, alowing this permanent 'shaving' movement.
This way you will always have explored land left of you, and unexplored right, just keep shaving till you hit something solid, that will be the pyramid of spirits, it has only one tunnel going trough it, with one chest inside it, on the other side of the tunnel is easern island. TIP: if you proceed this shaving movement just a little longer you will hit the outside of the PYRAMID OF DEAD since it is located not to far away from the PYRAMID of spiritsthere is however really no need to do that. B To travel there from Northern forest, enter the forest from ELDIM and move towards the HOWARTS FOLLY exit inside the forest. When it is in sight, take the bridge on your far right, walk in a straight line past a♥♥♥♥♥♥♥shaped lake, and cross the other bridge, than go left, inside the woods. If you did it right, you will find 2 towers, each on one side of a river, they will be insanely high, and the will have bridges going from the one tower to the other at some of the higher levels. A trader will be on ground floor of one of the two towers, as will be a transport platform, the transport platform will bring you to eastern island.
*if you cant find the towers this way, you may just try explore the northern forest complety piece by piece. In the long run even exploring the WHOLE northern forest may prove easier than the time it will take shaving the desert near grescall, and there are some smaller bosses to be found in the forest an good chests that you would otherwise never find. 2.2 once on eastern island, explore it completely, it is not that big, it has some chests, but it has no mobs what so ever, and only 3 ways of the island, one 'cellar' like thing, (if you arrived by forest, this one goes to the pyramid of spirits, go ahead take that chest) one platform in the center of eastern island, in a big cave (this one leads to the towers in the northern forest) and a second platform located in a small tower standing on the island. Nagarjuna Super Movie Audio Songs Download on this page. It;s this second platform we want to use to go to the pyramid of the dead. 2.3 the pyramid of the dead is basicly a huge lava-dungeon system full of the hardest mobs in the game, and lots of loot-chests, with a trader in the middle of the system, and two platforms, one on each end, one leading to the pyramid of the dead. (there is nothing inside that pyramid itself other than the entry to this cave system, but if you want you can go there) and the platform to eastern island.
Once you killed of everything in the pyramid of the dead took all the loot, this UNOFFICIAL QUEST is basicly done. Make some screenshots of you standing ourside of a pyramid or eastern island to prove you foun them, For the 3d and BEST bonus quest, see part 2 of this guide. This is part 2 of the unofficial quest guide, containing only the 3d and secret chicken level quest.
Precalculus Pdf. For the lost pyramid and pit of despair unofficial quests, see part 1 of this guide BONUSQUEST 3 (6.X) CHICKEN LEVEL. (trial of gallus) this quest is the 'easter egg' of the game it is just a small dungeon with awsome loot in it that can only be unlocked when certain demants are met, that normally you would not find or figure out.
The book 'trial of gallus' optained after completing the multiplayer quest containes a riddle leading to this quest, making this quest the most 'official' of the 3 unofficial quests. This quest will shower you in tons of yellow items, and give you also 'the chicken gun' a unique item, that not only cannot be aquired anywhere else (and hence is prove you completed this quest) but also is the best bow in the game. 2.2 to get your sticky fingers on this beauty and all that loot, you need to prepare or it wont gonna happen. You need 3 items: The first is the TRIAL OF GALLUS, a book found ONLY in the ULTRAEN CATACOMBS, and hence you can only get that book after completing the main multiplayer quest. I shall repost/replace it some day. At the time I posted this, DS1 was not seperately sold at steam. (I was only sold in a pack together with DS3 and DS2 for 30 euro) And as we all know packs on steam cannot be splitted, so I would not have recieved a second DS3 serial if I bought that pack.
(not that i could for long, because shorly after steam implemented it so that people can't even BUY packs if they already own parts of it. (even if buying the remaining parts of it is more expensive than having some part of a pack go to waste or if there is no other way to obtain the games than by those packs) Without owning DS1 on steam, there was no way for me to post on the DS1 forums. Later steam made DS1 and DS2 available for sale seperately, and I re-bought them (since I already own them on the original retail disks) But I simply haven't come around to it to repost this. As you might have seen, Team Elemental is reworking the Dungeon Siege UI to accommodate a new skill system and during the process we learned quite a bit. Since I haven't seen any other tutorials on the UI out there, I thought I'd do a quick write up of what I know about it. Unfortunately, I've got a lot of constraints on my time, so I'm not going to be able to put the effort I'd like to into it.
I'm hoping that the anything is better than nothing at all principle applies here. Nivisec's tutorials focus mostly on item creation and everything on that subject. I will outline the three basic styles that I have used to create new nodesets.
This series of tutorials includes updated source and documentation for creating 'short game' gametypes for Dungeon Siege. We use the term 'short game' to denote gametypes which can be played in a relatively short session and which are often intended for competitive multiplayer. Some examples of Short Games are Capture the Flag, Defend and Destroy, Capture and Hold, and Gremal Hunter.
