Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand is a one-hour weekly soap on Star Plus (Mondays, 9 p.m. Dirt Late Model Sim Crate Download Yahoo on this page. ) & I started watching this coz the title sounded really cool but after a few bearable episodes it turned out to be the usual Indian soapy affair The Serial: Produced & directed by veteran actress Aruna Irani, this serial is shot in London & tells the story of a Punjabi family who have left their Indian soil & are settled in London for the past 50 years. They love & long for their motherland & have tried to instill Indian values & traditions in their children. However, children everywhere are the same & this results in a classic family tear-jerker serial, sans the saas-bahu saga.

This serial with its songs, London scenes of homes & restaurants has a movie look. The only plus in this serial are the beautiful hindi-punjabi songs composed & superbly performed by playback singer Sukhwinder, but how can one watch a serial just for its songs? The Saga so far: Pritam Singh (Bauji) & his wife Sukhi (Beeji) are the [air]heads of the family. Bauji has been living in UK for 50 years but his heart still yearns for his country & he dreams of returning to it one day. Today he has a huge restaurant empire which is handled by his only son Jindar, who is married to Tejji [Aruna Irani] & they have three children. But Jindar has a secret that nobody knows - not even Teiji - a mistress tucked away in a London flat! It is only after his mistresses death that Tejji finds about about her souten but being a a woman of high morals & values [?] after some hullabaloo she continues living with Jindar & is surprisingly complacent when he brings his illegitimate child Tina to live with them.

[So much for indian traditions & culture!]. Soon Jindar suffers a paralytic attack [serves him right!] & poor Tejji is further burdened with taking care of her 'helpless' husband. Tejji's woes do not end here as she has exemplary children who leave no stone unturned to add to her misery.

Her eldest daughter is Pammi [Sangita Ghosh], a typical aadarsh Indian ladki who is only too happy to nod her head in agreement when her parents get her engaged to Dr. Rohan [forgot his name but he is son of Anil Dhawan]. However, when she meets Dev at a family wedding in Chandigarh, Pammi doesn't give a crap to her being engaged & runs around the fields with new found love. Soon, its time to go back home & we see too much of sobbing from Pammi as well as Dev. She does return but is followed by Dev. Now Rohan being the oh-cho-chweet character, does his best to get the two married & it is after a lot of convincing, unlimited episodes & tired audience that Bauji agrees to get them married.

[If you have managed to read so far, I think you are interested in knowing the 'story' of this serial, right? So, here is the rest] Interestingly, Dev never returns back to India [what about his parents?] & becomes a Indian Ghar Jamai [Indian traditions say this?]. He coolly joins his father-in-law's business & much to the annoyance of this wife ka bhaiya Sam - a horribly confused kid who has no mind of his own - Dev books his place both in the family & business. If you think this serial is about a fight between brother in laws, wait coz there is much more madness here! You see, our Dev has a devdaasi back here in India who is Anu [Shweta Keswani], a crazy girl who wants to get Dev kahi bhi kaise bhi, even after he is married!

How do you think Anu manages to go all the way from Chandigarh to London? Quite simple actually, she bats her eyelashes at.. But our puerile Sam & he falls deeply n madly in love with her, gets married to her & Anu not only manages to come close to Dev, she ends up being in the same house with him! Poor Pammi, now she has to keep her husband away from a girl who is worse than any vamps she'd have seen in bollywood films! Now I've lost patience to go on with this sorry story...

My Word: The story could've been a good love triangle but trying to keep the family with so many characters involved in a lovestory is no joke & in the end Aruna Irani has turned a good plot into one that becomes a who-gets-the-guy kinda story. Its really disgusting that Anu even after marriage yearns for Dev & to get him she goes to the extent of trying to kill his wife, this is something which is uncommon even in bollywood films. Only a former vamp like Aruna Irani could've come up with imagination like this. Even though this is a story about NRI's vying to return to India, there is hardly any India shown in the serial. Is there a point to keep these desi chaand's in a phoren land?

Watch this one only when you have nothing better to do [I hope you always have something better to keep you busy. Dominator Pro Cracked.
